Privacy Policy
PRIVACY
Effective date: October 5, 2026
GovGuru, LLC (“GovGuru,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of people who visit govguru.biz, request a consultation, communicate with us, or become clients. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, when we disclose it, and the choices available to you.
This Policy applies to govguru.biz and information collected through its forms. A signed client agreement or a separate notice may provide additional terms for Executive Advisory, Project Advisory, or assessment information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, organization, role, preferred contact method, scheduling information, and the information you choose to include in a consultation request or communication.
Engagement information. If you become a client or participant, we may collect contract, billing, scheduling, communication, advisory, assessment, and project information needed to provide and administer the engagement. That information may also be governed by a client agreement or nondisclosure agreement.
Payment and business records. We may collect billing contact information, invoice status, transaction records, and tax or accounting information. Payment-card information, if accepted, is generally processed by the applicable payment provider rather than stored directly by GovGuru.
Information collected automatically. Wix and approved website tools may collect an IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages viewed, dates and times, approximate location derived from an IP address, security events, and cookie or similar-technology information.
2. Please Do Not Submit Sensitive Matter Details
The consultation form is intended for a high-level description of what you want to discuss. Do not submit confidential agency records, personnel information, protected health information, social security numbers, financial-account information, passwords, assessment responses, litigation-sensitive information, or other sensitive matter details through the initial form. We can agree on an appropriate channel if the work moves forward.
3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to: respond to inquiries; evaluate whether GovGuru is an appropriate fit; schedule and conduct consultations; provide Executive Advisory or Project Advisory services; administer assessments; prepare and manage agreements, invoices, and records; communicate with you; secure and improve the website and business systems; prevent misuse; comply with law and professional obligations; and protect GovGuru, clients, participants, and others.
GovGuru does not use identifiable client information, confidential session details, or identifiable assessment responses to train public AI models. Any secondary use of identifiable assessment responses for product development will require separate, express consent.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Wix uses cookies and similar technologies that support security, stability, fraud prevention, site operation, and performance measurement. Approved analytics or third-party applications may place additional cookies depending on the site configuration.
Where the site presents a cookie banner or privacy control, you may use it to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can also adjust browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may affect site operation.
Browser-based Do Not Track signals are not interpreted consistently across the industry. GovGuru responds to legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, when required and technically supported.
5. When We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to service providers that support the website and business, such as Wix, HubSpot, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, QuickBooks, scheduling, electronic-signature, payment, security, analytics, or professional-service providers. They receive information only for the functions they perform for GovGuru and subject to their applicable terms and safeguards.
We may also disclose information: with your direction or consent; to attorneys, accountants, insurers, or other professional advisors; to comply with law, subpoena, court order, public-records obligations, audit requirements, or another valid legal process; to protect rights, safety, and security; or in connection with a merger, financing, sale, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections.
6. Sale, Sharing, and Third-Party Tracking
GovGuru does not sell personal information for money. GovGuru does not knowingly disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Website and analytics providers may collect information through their own technologies to provide services to GovGuru. Review their policies and use the site’s available privacy controls.
Because installed applications and legal definitions can change, GovGuru will periodically review whether any activity constitutes “sale” or “sharing” under applicable California law and will provide legally required opt-out methods if needed.
7. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including responding to inquiries, providing services, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and complying with legal, insurance, audit, or records obligations. Retention periods vary by the nature of the information and the relationship. We may retain de-identified information that can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
8. Security
GovGuru uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No website, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use an agreed secure channel for sensitive information.
9. Your Choices and Requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information GovGuru maintains about you, subject to applicable law, contractual obligations, public-records requirements, and legitimate recordkeeping needs. Send a request to JoeKarkoski@govguru.biz. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may opt out of non-essential communications by following the instructions provided or contacting us. Transactional, engagement, and legally required communications may continue.
10. Public Agencies and Public Records
Information held by GovGuru is not necessarily a public record merely because a visitor works for a public agency. However, records held by or transmitted to a public agency may be subject to public-records, open-government, audit, discovery, or retention requirements. Neither this Policy nor an NDA can guarantee confidentiality when disclosure is legally required.
Where a public agency is the client or the sponsor of the work, material created for the engagement, including the Leadership & Organization Assessment, may be an agency record. The agency decides what is disclosed. Everything in this Policy is subject to applicable public-records and transparency laws.
11. Children
The website and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. GovGuru does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
12. Third-Party Sites and Services
The website may link to services or websites GovGuru does not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. A link does not mean GovGuru endorses or controls those practices.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when practices, services, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version with a revised effective date. Material changes will be communicated in another reasonable manner when required by law.
14. Contact
Questions or privacy requests may be sent to JoeKarkoski@govguru.biz.
